Guest reviews and comments are really important to us; not only do they give us a pat on the back when we get things right - we also pick up suggestions for improving our service.

We do listen, and we never rest on our laurels! We are constantly trying to improve, and our guests' feedback is a vital part of this process. We invite all guests to complete an anonymous survey after staying with us... we feel that an anonymous survey is much more likely to get totally honest comments, good or bad. But we also invite online reviews (via the guestbook entries on the website page for each unit of accommodation) and, apart from online reviews, we do have a visitors' book in many of the properties. Lastly, we email every one of our guests on their return to the UK, to invite their feedback.

Below is a very brief selection of extracts from visitors' book comments and/or emails we have received. We could easily fill several pages, but this should give you an idea of the comments we have received over the last few years. Copies of the actual guest book entries, emails, online reviews etc, are available for inspection on request.

  • We stayed at the Sunrise at the Nur Apartments in Kalkan for 10 days. The apartments are beautifully kept, clean & tidy with a wonderful location. The swimming pool was a really good size, with plenty of sun loungers. The managing agent, Fiona, was really helpful, particularly at this difficult time with Covid. We shall certainly be returning.

  • Thank you for your patience and understanding this year and for helping to arrange a well earned holiday in your fantastic Nur Aprtments - Daybreak.
    It was as hoped, fantastic, spotlessly clean and modern apartment, great location and outstanding pool area.
    The Daybreak was fantastic with the double balcony so guaranteed sun/shade as required.
    Again we cannot thank you enough for all your help this year and wish you the best for the future.
    We’re torn between telling everyone about the amazing Nur Apartments or keeping it a secret!?

  • Hi Fiona
    I just want to thank you so much for arranging such a fabulous holiday for us.
    We stayed in the Sunrise apartment at the Nur apartment complex. The apartment was spacious, modern and clean with a good sized balcony to spend the morning eating breakfast or the evening having our first drinks before heading out into the town. The apartment is perfectly situated, just a short (downhill) stroll into the town.
    As we stayed for 10 days we received a mid-way clean, where the cleaner was so accommodating and left it looking spotlessly clean.
    Thank you so much for everything and we hope to rebook with you next year!

  • Well we are back home after having an excellent holiday. The apartment was everything that we wanted. Kalkan has changed since our last visit, but it is still a lovely place. We certainly don't want to wait another 8 years to come back. In fact we said that we would love to come back with our children and grand children. Better start saving!!

  • We have just spent a wonderful 2 weeks in the Nur Apartments in Kalkan (Sunset).
    Everything from start to finish was very smooth and simple. Easy booking system, first class airport transfers and very helpful advice from Fiona Ellis the director of Kalkan Secrets.
    The apartment itself was spotlessly clean with good sized rooms and balcony.
    The pool was a God send and we had it to ourselves a lot of the time.
    The location was great, literally round the corner from the super market, patisserie and fruit and veg shop and a very short walk into the old town.
    We love Kalkan. Been here 3 times now.
    The people are so friendly, the food is amazing and the boat trips are an absolute must as is the local Hammam!

  • Thank you for a fabulous 2 week stay in the sunrise Apt in July 2019, the whole process from booking to transfers was very easy, any queries were answered very promptly by Fiona. The apartment was spotless and very well positioned for restaurants and supermarket. We particularly enjoyed and made use of the big balcony and pool, which we used after a long day in the hot sun. Would not hesitate to book this apartment again.

  • Our stay in the Dusk apartment was amazing. I can’t recommend this block of apartments enough.
    From the initial booking, the information provided by Fiona and the arranged taxi transfers were invaluable.
    The dusk apartment is immaculate and spacious. The attention to detail is second to none. Everything is provided including beach towels, ,it truly is home from home.
    The pool is a lovely size and the sun beds are comfortable. Although the apartment block was fully occupied there were days when we had the pool to ourselves.
    Thank you so much Fiona and Martyn - we will definitely be arranging a return.

  • I cannot recommend Dusk at Nur Apartments highly enough.The information we received prior to the holiday was excellent and very helpful.The apartment itself was spotless and so well equipped.It was also very helpful that beach towels were supplied as it gave extra luggage room.
    The pool is large and maintained to a high standard-most of the time we had it to ourselves which was lovely.
    Location of the apartments is very good- a short stroll to the old town- a slightly longer walk back though!
    Transfers arranged by Kalkan Secrets were excellent and hassle-free.
    All in all a lovely relaxing holiday.

  • Our stay at the Daybreak Apartment was first class - everything we could have hoped for. The apartment was actually larger than we anticipated, spotlessly clean, with two large balconies. Although the pool was advertised as shared, most of the time we used it we were on our own.

    The location is perfect, just a few metres from the main road out of town and just a leisurely 5 minute stroll to the Old Town. Maintenance /Cleaning was excellent and when we asked for a slightly later check out, this was readily agreed.
    We would certainly recommend the apartments and intend to be back ourselves. Thanks to all who made our stay so memorable.

  • My family and I stayed in the Daybreak apartment from the 27th of July for 2 weeks. The apartments are in a great location close to the old town, supermarkets, bars, and restaurants. The apartment is large and airy with all mod cons. From the balcony, we had great views of the town and bay. The pool is large and even though it was peak season it was very quiet and relaxing. The apartment and pool area were well looked after by the staff and they were always on hand if we needed them. We are looking forward to returning to the Nur apartments next year.

  • Have just had a lovely two week break in Kalkan staying in the Sunset apartment. As I know Kalkan well I chose it mainly for its location. The apartment had everything you would need with a great pool, which I had to myself on several occasions. Situated close to supermarkets, bars and restaurants but in a quiet street parallel to the main road what more could you ask for. Would certainly stay at this complex again.

  • From the first day I contacted Kalkan Secrets about staying at their apartments (Sunrise), I was very impressed by the level of communication and attention to detail displayed by Fiona. My wife and I spent a terrific 14 nights in May-June 2018. From the arranged transfer from Dalaman onwards, this was a dream experience. The apartment was very well appointed with plentiful kitchen equipment including the all important bottle opener. The apartment was clean and spacious and kept in this condition by the excellent Emine(?) who supplemented our own efforts by supplying replacement sheets and towels.
    I was in two minds about writing this review as I would prefer to keep this "secret" to ourselves but , seriously , you will struggle to find a better apartment in Kalkan. Situated only 5 minutes from the Old Town in easy walking distance of numerous restaurants I cannot wait to visit again in 2019.

  • We have just returned from a two week stay in the Nur Apartments (Dusk). It had everything we required and more. The apartment was spacious and spotless and it slept four adults comfortably. The bed linen was changed halfway through the holiday as well as the apartment being immaculately cleaned. The pool/beach towels were an added bonus, and these too were changed midway through the holiday. The pool is a great size, and as we were out of season it was very quiet and relaxing. The apartment location is perfect for the old town. Close enough for convenience but far enough away to be quiet. It is an uphill walk back, but everywhere is Kalkan is uphill one way or another! The information supplied by Fiona and Martyn prior to arrival was detailed and informative and the additional information in the apartment was also great. We arranged transfers via Kalkan Secrets. They were punctual, efficient, polite and comfortable. It definitely took the stress out of travelling to and from Dalaman. In summary, a great location, well managed, perfectly positioned, clean and comfortable. I can definitely recommend Nur Apartments and although it was our first visit, it will not be our last.

  • We stayed in Daybreak for 10 nights from 30 June 17. Had a fantastic holiday. Apartment had everything you could want. Pool was inviting and large and comfortable sunbeds. Booking was easy, arrival arrangements were spot on and we were looked after on the day of leaving. A great service. Would recommend the apartments and Kalkan Secrets. Thanks for a great time in a great holiday destination.

  • Our fifth visit to these lovely apartments - we wouldn't stay anywhere else in Kalkan! We love the convenient location and the pool, and the views from Daybreak apartment are just lovely - nothing better than a cheeky pre-dinner drinkie on the balcony overlooking the pool, looking out over the town and deciding which of the lovely restaurants to visit tonight!! Daybreak is our favourite but we have stayed in most of the others in the block and they are all spacious, clean and welcoming. Fiona and Martyn are so easy to deal with, and a mine of useful information too, and they have a great local team looking after everything. We feel so safe and comfortable there. Just sad to be home now, but there's always next year to look forward to!

  • We had a brilliant stay at the Nur apartments. Martyn and Fiona were so helpful prior to our stay, booking airport transfers and providing all the necessary information on our stay making it an easy and stress free experience. The apartment itself was very well equipped, with loads of lovely outdoor space and the bonus of a sea view from the upper garden area! Very clean and great value, would definitely come again.

  • We stayed at the Nur apartments in August 2015. We were a party of eleven total; four in Daybreak, four in Dusk and three of us in Sunrise.

    The apartments were very clean and well-appointed and during our fortnight the apartments were recleaned and our bed linen and bath/hand towels were replaced. It is worth noting that beach towels are also provided (and changed) during your stay – saving considerably on your luggage allowance. As does the provision of a washing machine, if you were going for a week you could almost get away with hand baggage – toiletries being cheap enough to buy in the supermarket that’s two minutes’ walk away.

    We probably split our eating in and eating out pretty evenly. There are lots of good, and good value restaurants in Kalkan but if you want to self-cater then the apartments are well enough equipped that you can without having to compromise; gas hob, microwave, electric oven and all the utensils you would commonly need. Even the cutlery matched…!

    Although we were eleven, and there were other parties staying at Nur there was never any issue with either sunbeds or space around the pool which is larger than you would expect for ‘just’ apartments. The pool and its surround were always clean and tidy.

    The apartments are about 10-15 minutes uphill from Kalkan old-town and harbour (downhill is much quicker!) and you would probably be best to avoid a midday return uphill, but in the evenings after dinner it was never an issue and we had a seven year old with us…

    The arranged transfers to and from Dalaman airport were painless, and between eleven the cost was very reasonable given it is 75-90 minutes.

    In summary, Kalkan is very pretty, the apartments are value for money, spotless, well-appointed, nicely located, well looked after and have a great pool. We would not hesitate to recommend them to couples, families or indeed larger groups such as ours.

  • Everything You Will Ever Need in an Apartment!

    We arrived late evening, to be greeted by owner, Fiona, who ensured we knew where everything was and how it worked, particularly the oh-so-essential air-con! Our holiday coincided with a heatwave, so it was good to have air-con in both the bedroom and the living area, as well as a fan for anyone who finds it just a little too icy!

    You have all you need in this apartment for a comfortable self-catering holiday, although admittedly we didn't use the little oven or microwave, just the toaster and kettle, plus the hob to cook breakfast eggs. Why visit Kalkan, with all its fabulous restaurants, and cook your own dinner? The large balcony is perfect for eating that breakfast/lunch, and the smaller rear balcony has a washing machine, which means that not only do you save on luggage weight, but you can bring home a case of clean clothes! For the ladies, I must mention that in the bedroom there is that rare delight - a dressing table with excellent lighting for applying make-up. I wish other apartments and hotels would take note!

    The pool... It is such a joy to have a huge pool which is shared between so few apartments. Often we had it all to ourselves. In early July it was a lovely temperature to get into to cool off, too. Also, you can have a lazy day by the pool and don't have to wander very far for a spot of lunch, as there are excellent restaurants in the immediate vicinity. When you do walk into town, it's downhill all the way, and will only take about 10 minutes. There are too many excellent restaurants to single any out, really. Suffice to say we didn't have a poor meal in any of the ones we tried.

    This was our first trip to Kalkan, and it certainly won't be the last as we have fallen in love with it. And this apartment is so perfect for us that we've already booked for next July! Can't wait!

  • Best Holiday Ever! Painless journey to the apartment by taxi, arranged by Fiona and Martyn.

    When we arrived at the Sunrise apartment Fiona was there to greet us and she talked us through the apartment and where the local supermarket was etc.. which was a really nice touch. The apartment was well equipped and very clean and was perfect for us, with a wonderful view of the mountains. The pool and area was immaculate and was maintained everyday and just the right size.

    Kalkan itself to us was our little bit of paradise, lovely roof top restaurants, great weather and gorgeous places to see. The Lemon Tree is a must on a Sunday evening to see Martyn strut his stuff on his electric guitar with a really good local singer. Fiona and Martyn have got this just right we cannot wait to go back next year. See you in June 2015! Rob and Nicky

  • I've stayed in Kalkan a number of times in the last few years and was lucky to find this accommodation last October. The owners are lovely and very well informed about the area. The apartment was exactly what I needed. It is well looked after and fitted with all I needed for my weeks holiday. It was comfortable and roomy and had all mod cons. It is also very close to town which is ideal. So much so that I have booked a six week stay in an adjoining apartment (same owners) in 2014.

    Fully recommend it.
